Who we are

Samara Design Studio began with two friends and a shared love for the beautiful things—rich color, thoughtful design, and conversations about food, culture, and the everyday beauty that shapes how we live. For years, we traded inspiration, saved images that moved us, and kept circling back to the same idea: creating spaces that feel comforting, timeless, and full of heart.

We’re Madeline and Amy.

Amy studied Interior Design with a concentration in Architecture at Sacramento State University and brings over ten years of professional experience in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Eugene. She is NCIDQ certified and has worked across a diverse range of project types—including residential, educational, commercial, and even highly specialized environments such as aquariums—blending technical expertise with thoughtful, human-centered design.

Madeline studied textiles before graduating with a degree in sciences from the University of Oregon. Her creative path unfolded through entrepreneurship, founding a garden and pet feed store rooted in beauty, care, and community. More than a decade later, it remains a beloved Eugene staple.

Samara Design Studio is where our two paths meet—Amy’s professional expertise and Maddie’s intuitive eye for texture, color, and trend. Together, we believe design should feel honest, human, and deeply connected to the people who live within it.

To us, a home is lived in, storied, and personal.

It’s where families gather, celebrate, grow, and build memories that last.

Our work isn’t just about creating beautiful rooms—it’s about shaping spaces that feel functional, elegant, and enduring. Spaces crafted with the same care, connection, and creativity that sparked our friendship.

A friendship grounded in trust, imagination, and meaning—

this is Samara Design Studio.
